No-tillage unit models
Three working widths in the same design: Delta Flex tines, a row of 460 mm discs, hydraulic non-stop safety, and hydraulic depth adjustment. Models differ in width, number of tines, transport method, and required tractor power.
Chisel plow models
Where no-tillage equipment works in the topsoil, the chisel plow penetrates deeper, breaking up the compacted layer left by years of plowing and machinery. The soil regains its permeability, water drains deeper, and roots have room to grow.

How to choose a no-tillage cultivator for your farm?
The choice comes down to four options. Below is what we ask for in every quote – you can prepare your answers before the call or enter them directly into the form.
1. Tractor power and working width
No-till cultivation presents greater resistance than harrowing, so the width is selected based on traction. Our no-till machines range from 125 to 300 hp: 2,5 m for medium-power tractors, 3,0 m as a universal compromise, and 4,0–5,0 m for the most powerful tractors and large areas.
2. Depth and purpose of the treatment
Tilling and mixing crop residues is a task for the PORTO cultivator. If compacted layers under the ploughed surface and standing water are a problem, the DARTA chisel plow, which works up to 55 cm, is necessary. Many farms use both machines at different times.
3. Stoning the field
In rocky fields, securing the working elements is crucial. PORTO units feature hydraulic non-stop protection with adjustable pressure: the tine deflects before an obstacle and returns to depth without downtime for replacing sheared bolts.
4. Roller to suit the soil type
The roller sets the working depth and completes the profile. The tubular roller is the most versatile, the spiked roller breaks up large clods, the packer and roof rollers compact before sowing, and the cast iron crosskill roller copes with heavy soils. You choose your roller when ordering – a full list is available on the model pages.

Recommendation
NO-TILL UNIT PORTO 250 OR PORTO 300
For tillage and mixing crop residue, a cultivator operating in the topsoil is sufficient. Delta Flex tines cut the soil, and a row of 460 mm discs distributes residue evenly across the entire width. For areas up to approximately 150 ha, choose 2,5 m, and for areas larger than 150 ha, choose 3,0 m.
Recommendation
PORTO no-tillage cultivator with a selected tillage roller
When cultivating before sowing, the roller is crucial. Packers and roof rollers compact the soil and create a level seedbed, crosskill rollers handle heavy soils, and string and spring rollers perform well on lighter soils. The width should be selected based on the tractor's power.
Recommendation
PORTO XXL no-plow cultivator
In the 4,0 or 5,0 m version, the machine cultivates up to 5 ha per hour at 10 km/h, and folds hydraulically for transport. Configurations include 13 or 16 Delta Flex tines and 10 or 13 460 mm discs – with correspondingly higher power requirements.
Recommendation
DARTA chisel plough
Standing water in the field, a flat root system, and a hard layer felt below the ploughed surface are symptoms of plow pan. No cultivator working in the topsoil will break it up – 30 or 35 mm Ripper tines working down to 55 cm are required.
What is the difference between a no-tillage cultivator and a chisel plow?

PORTO corkless aggregate
It works in the topsoil and performs a complete operation in a single pass: Delta Flex tines cut the soil, the disc harrows mix crop residue, and the roller closes and levels the surface. Precise pressure adjustment and hydraulic non-stop protection ensure consistent depth, even in stony fields.
High-grade steel construction, powder coating, and a thick layer of chrome on the cylinders extend the machine's life. This tool is suitable for routine post-harvest and pre-sowing cultivation.

DARTA chisel plough
It penetrates the topsoil and breaks up the plow pan—the compacted layer formed after years of plowing at the same depth. 30 or 35 mm Ripper tines loosen the profile up to 55 cm without turning the furrow, while the hydraulically adjustable Tandem spike roller crushes clods and levels the field.
The result is restored soil permeability, improved water retention, and root space. This procedure is performed less frequently, but cannot be replaced by a cultivator – no machine working in the topsoil can reach that deep.
Estimation of a no-tillage machine
Price depends on the model, working width, number of tines, and selected tillage roller. Provide basic information about your farm and we'll get back to you with a quote and a turnaround time the same business day.

Frequently asked questions about no-till farming
This is tillage without turning the furrow. Instead of a plow, tines and discs work, cutting and loosening the soil, mixing crop residues with the topsoil. The humus layer remains in place, and the profile doesn't dry out.
In most post-harvest and pre-sowing operations, yes – the cultivator performs the same functions as plowing, plus additional operations, in a single pass. The plow remains useful in specific situations, such as when ploughing in manure or when couch grass is heavily infested. More in the article: Can a no-till cultivator replace a plow?
Machines in this category operate in the 125 to 300 hp range. Demand depends on the working width, number of working tools, working depth, and soil compaction. Please provide your tractor model in your inquiry and we will select a width that won't overload it.
These working elements are used in all PORTO cultivators. Spaced in rows, they ensure the free flow of soil and plant debris without clogging the machine. Together with a row of 460 mm discs, they ensure even mixing of crop residue across the entire width.
Upon striking a rock, the actuator allows the tine to smoothly swing back, and the pressure system returns it to the set depth. The pressure is hydraulically adjustable, so the stiffness of the work adapts to the conditions. The operator does not have to stop the tractor or replace sheared bolts.
This is a hard, compact layer formed after years of plowing at the same depth and being compacted by machine wheels. Water stops penetrating, and roots don't penetrate any deeper. Only a machine working beneath the topsoil can break it up – we offer the DARTA chisel plow, which goes down to 55 cm. Details can be found in the article " How to remove a plow pan with a chisel plow?"
The price depends on the working width, number of tines, type of tillage roller, and additional equipment, such as carbide elements. Therefore, we price each configuration individually – the inquiry form is returned with a quote and a turnaround time the same business day.
The tubular type is the most versatile and stabilizes the machine's operation. The spiked type breaks up large clods, the packer and roof type compact the soil before sowing, the cast iron crosskill works well in heavy soils, and the string and spring types are self-cleaning in lighter soils. A complete list, including weights, can be found on the individual model pages.
It works well on medium to heavy soils, where structure and moisture retention are important. In densely compacted areas, it's best to start with deep loosening with a chisel plow, before moving on to routine tillage with a cultivator. Ask our technical specialist about the correct sequence of operations.
Yes. We operate a parts store for PORTO no-till cultivators and DARTA chisel plow parts , including carbide-tipped working parts. We also provide machine transport and warranty service.
